So, its that time of year again. Let's make resolutions and try super-duper hard to stay true to ourselves...have anyone else noticed this is the hardest thing to do...ever.
I think the most important thing to remember is that there is an end to the madness. And you can do it.
I just made a great ab workout for my dad. He is truely trying to get into shape. Of course saying your going to do it and actually doing it are two totally different things.
Happy New Year and keep trying those Resolutions. You'll Get there. Always jump right back on that wagon!!!

Try this.....
So I have a new challenge. I bet if done consistently each night with a good diet in 4 weeks your stomach could look flat as a surf board. Heres the challenge, during your favorite TV program do crunches or some sort of ab routine during the commercials. Whether its an hour or a half-hour you'd be surprised how many minutes of abs you'll get outta of it.
Let me know how that goes :) CHEERS to a happy belly!

Running in the dark
It's funny...now that the time has changed and we have shorter days, I feel that I am trying to fulfill my days with as much daylight as possible. I often find myself finishing the day in the dark with the end of the day run. With this there is a lot to keep in mind.
1. Remember that the sidewalks are never even.
2. There may be a rut or hole if your running on trails.
3. Here in Chicago, I worry about running past alleys.
4. Wear reflective gear--not all black.
5. Try and run in a well lit area or path. And well traveled too.
Try and stay as safe as possible and don't have your ipod blaring. Your only as good with all your senses working together.

Where should your heart rate be?
How do you know when your reaching your maximum heart rate potential for blasting fat?
Blast fat away by keeping your heart rate around 65%-70% intensity. Try to do this for at the least 30-minutes of Cardio Activity. Once you find that your pretty stable at this rate increase the time to 60- then eventually 90-minutes. Fat should just be falling off your body.

New Season, New Goals
Here is an excellent way to keep your self motivated and on track. Each season try and switch up your program. When it comes to building strength and endurance workouts can become repetitive...10 Lateral Raises-10 Straight Arm Raises, again and again. Try and switch up your program every 4-6 weeks to stay intrigued. You will see results as your body changes.

Get the most out of the Fall weather
Today was absolutely perfect running, biking, or walking weather in Chicago. Tomorrow is September 1st, and we all know what this means. Its shorter days, more darkness, and soon enough snowy cold weather is in the near future. So, with this being said it is time to make the most out of the weather we have now. Here are some outdoorsy things you can do to make the most out of your exercise programs:
- Take a walk on Lunch
- Walk your pet a little longer then the quick run in and out
- Play a sport - Soccer season is in the mix
- Bike
- Run
- Do some dips on a park bench
- Play with your kids outside
